Advanced Physiology and Pathophysiology

Graduate students will recognize and analyze the relationship between normal physiology and function to structural and functional changes in cells/tissues/organs that underlie selected diseases.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  1. Relate advanced knowledge of human cellular, organ, and system physiology to human functioning.
  2. Discuss reciprocal relationships between physiologic processes in selected pathways, organs, and systems.
  3. Discuss the pathophysiologic basis of selected diseases.
  4. Relate knowledge of pathophysiologic changes to case study discussion and to the clinical practice setting.
