Module 1 Emory Libraries' Video Databases

Emory Libraries also provides access to thousands of films across different streaming platforms. Browse through the following databases listed below to find titles you can use in your course.

You can link to any video title in a Canvas page, Discussion post, or Assignment page. You and your students will simply be asked to sign in with Emory credentials to view content in these databases.

Film Databases

  • Academic Video Online (AVON) - Delivers more than 66,000 titles spanning the widest range of subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more. 

 

 

 

  • Film Platform - Large streaming collection of national and international documentaries.

 

  • Journal of Visualized Experiments - JoVE has produced over 5,500 videos demonstrating experiments from laboratories at top research institutions. Each video is accompanied by a peer-reviewed article.

 

  • Kanopy - Offers thousands of streaming videos on all subjects from a wide range of suppliers.

 

  • Medici.tv - A rare and exclusive selection of concerts, operas, ballets, documentaries and master classes.

 

 

  • Naxos Video Library - Stream a wide variety of performances, including opera, classical music, ballet, live concerts, and more.

 

  • Swank Digital Campus - Provides streaming access to feature films for research and teaching at Emory. These films may only be viewed through the Swank Digital Campus platform. The films do not have public performance rights. Please contact reserves@emory.edu to license a title on the platform.

 

  • World History in Video - Contains critically acclaimed documentaries on a wide range of topics, regions, and periods.
