Video Settings & Enhancements
There are a variety of settings and features within Zoom that you can use to optimize and enhance your video. These are summarized below and on the Zoom Support site for Video enhancements Links to an external site..
Video settings
If you go to your Video settings, you will see several useful options. These include mirroring your video, touching up your appearance, and adjusting for low light.
To access these settings, open the Settings menu in the Zoom web portal or the Zoom desktop client and navigate to the Video section. (Click your profile icon, click Settings, and click Video. Zoom Support offers detailed instructions for changing settings in the Zoom desktop client Links to an external site..)
Mirror Video
Mirroring your video horizontally flip your video. This may be helpful if you want to use a physical whiteboard but your camera flips your video by default.
Touch-up Appearance
Within Zoom, you can apply a softening effect to skin to minimize the visibility of imperfections. To do so, enable Touch up my appearance. There is a slider you can use to adjust the effect. This setting will be remembered for meetings on that computer.
Adjust for Low Light
If you are in conditions with dim lighting, you can enable the Adjust for low light setting. The default of this setting is Auto, but you can change to Manual in order to adjust the setting to the desired effect.
Video Enhancements
Zoom offers Virtual Backgrounds and Video Filters to enhance your video. (Note that these functionalities may not be supported on older computers.)
To access these features, open the Settings menu in the Zoom web portal or the Zoom desktop client and navigate to the Backgrounds & Filters section. (Click your profile icon, click Settings, click Backgrounds & Filters, and select Virtual Background or Video Filters.)
Virtual Backgrounds
With the Virtual Background feature, Zoom detects the difference between you and your background and can display an image or video or your choice as your background during a Zoom Meeting. (This functionality may not be supported on older computers and works best with uniform lighting and/or a green screen.)
Emory offers a number of Emory- and Emory-Healthcare branded virtual backgrounds that you can import into Zoom (click the + button) and use in your meetings.

Using Video Filters
With Video Filters, you can add a color filter or fun frame to your video. You can also wear a pizza hat, a flower crown, and more!
